Interview with Aaron Daye

This is a interview my co-worker did of me as practice but she asked me a question as to how is Aaron Daye the photographer viewed outside the Gainesville Sun........

Sports pt.2

So in recent months in Title Town, USA aka Gainesville, Florida, the Florida Gators football team of the University of Florida have been doing their thing.....showing why the should Title Town, USA. Here are a few photos from a series of Gator Sports I have shot. This is a combination of practices and the Orange and Blue Game. Let me know what you think.

Head Coach Urban Meyer. Can you see how passionate he is about football just from the look on his face?

Sports pt.1

A collection of some of my favorite sports portraits and action photographs I've shot over the past few months.

I got the opportunity to do a portrait of Nine-time All-American 2006, 2007 & 2008 All-SEC gymnast Corey Hartung. She was really great to work with. To see her flexibility on the balance beam is amazing but to see her perform in person is phenomenal. She in my opinion is one of the best gymnast in the NCAA around.

Former Negro League Baseball player Harold "Buster" Hair, left, talks with students about baseball during a visit to Howard Bishop Middle School. Above, Former Negro League Baseball player William "Billy" Felder autographs a baseball. The players were visiting local schools to talk about their experiences playing in the all-black version of Major League baseball in the 1940s and 1950s.

SAFE!!!! I loved how a dirt cloud surrounds this Gainesville High School player after he slid back to first base without being tagged out.

University of Florida's Mary Ratliff, right, fights with University of Central Florida's Breanne Javier, left, to get back to first base before getting tagged out after being caught in a run down between fist and second base during the third inning of the championship game of the 2008 NCAA Softball Gainesville Regional. UF defeated UCF 10-0 in the fifth inning.

Duck Day at the Pond

Lily Cothran, 3, throws out a hand full of Cheerio's to fed the ducks ad other birds at the duck pond outside of North Florida Regional Medical center on Monday, July 21, 2008. Lily was spending time with her grandmother Dianne Cothran when they decided to feed the ducks at the pond.

Lily takes a break from duck feeding to smell a duck feather.

A mother duck signals to her 15 ducklings it's time to go in the house. This made me think of when my mom use to yell for me to come home before it got too dark outside. Not saying that we are ducks or anything, lol!

Lately...

Here are a few photos of some resent events I photographed.

"Bicycle repair" Jason Hall replaces cables and reconditions a Miyata Rode Bike at Recycled Bicycles on the corner of West University Avenue and West 8th Street. In Gainesville, bike riding is very big here. With gas prices so high more and more people are ridin bikes where ever they go. Good exercise which I need to practice and easier parking!

Football coach Kenneth Johnson, center, shows his players few defensive techniques as they run drills at the Eastside Recreation Center.

Players run conditioning drills on the bleachers called the Bleacher to strengthen the players legs.

Hiram Walker, 14, right, gazes on an incoming pass over blocker Antonio Scott, 10, left, during football practice.

Lee Thompson, 7, center, and other players on the Gladiators football team take a break from practice to get a drink of water.

It's for their own good......?

So we are doing a story on the UF Veterinary College and actually witnessed dogs getting neutered and spayed. It really freaked me out. I thought about the many surgeries I had but nothing quite like this. The staff and students were pretty cool and they really gave us access throughout the surgery area. I got a few cool frames of these poor cats & dogs.
